Peaceful times fell upon the world of Panem. Until He came, 48 years ago. He was young when He took control of the world, barely even an adult. But some how He managed it. His name is known throughout Panem as Lance Knight. Lance Knight took the world of Panem slowly, no one even noticed His growing power, until it was too late. He declared Himself King of Panem. He made it quite clear He would kill every human if any person opposed his rule. He didn't care if the human race would become extinct. He reinstated the Treaty of Treason on the Districts and thus the Hunger Games was reborn. The rules of the Hunger Games are pretty much like they were 200 years ago with a few minor tweaks by the King. Each of the 13 districts would offer up one boy and one girl, between the ages 12 and 20 to participate in these Hunger Games. The 24 kids would battle it out live on television inside an arena controlled by the Gamemakers. Within two weeks, only one would remain, all of the others killed by each other. That one would be the victor. Fortune and Riches await the victor, but the losers' families must give up one person to be sacrificed for their child's failure to win. Every child of the age of 12 enters their name at least once, but if they enter their name more than once, they earn a tessara, or tokens worth a very meager year's supply of grain and oil for one person. However many times they enter it one year, the same number is entered the next. So if one enters their name twice one year, to get a tessara, they must enter their name four times the next year. Even if one's name is pulled from the drawing, it doesn't mean they have to participate in the Games, because one can elect to take their place instead by volunteering. The 48th annual Hunger Games is about to begin! Will you be chosen? Or will you be spared? please have read or seen the first hunger games. |
